Tulipán
Tulipán je jarný okrasný kvet.
Je to cibuľovitá trvalka. Vysádza sa v skupinách. Tulipán má pestré farby. Má rôzne farebné odtiene. Rastie v nezamokrenej pôde. Obľubuje slnečné miesta. Tulipán má vyššie i nižšie druhy. Jeho stavba tela je elegantná. Má vysokú jednoduchú stonku, na ktorej vyrastajú kopijovité listy. Kvet má tvar kalicha a má oválne okvetné lístky. Kvet má tiež vonkajšie a vnútorné lístky. Poznáme viacfarebné druhy napríklad červené, žlté... Rozmnožuje sa mladými cibuľkami. Kvitne skoro na jar. Tulipán má zaujímavý tvar. Má nevýraznú vôňu.
Tulipán sa používa v kvetinárstve. Tulipánová kytica je vhodná na darovanie k akémukoľvek sviatku. Skvelo nahradzuje ruže.
Lekno
biele je trváca vodná bylina. Má dlhé podzemné stonky. Zo stoniek vyrastajú nápadné veľké listy a biele kvety. Kvety majú veľkosť približne 10 – 20 centimetrov. Kvet lekna má štyri kališné listy, ktoré sú na rube zelené a na lícnej strane biele. Korunné lupienky sú usporiadané v špirále a zmenšujú sa smerom k stredu.
Orchidea
už samotné slovo znie exoticky a dobrodružne. V jej kvetoch sa snúbi nadpozemská krása s exotickým vzhľadom a tie uchvacujú a priťahujú našu pozornosť priamo magicky.
Orchidey patria k najmladšej skupine kvitnúcich rastlín na zemi, ale nič nezabránilo tomu, aby sa stali najpočetnejšou čeľaďou rastlín. Väčšina orchideí pochádza z Ázie, Strednej a Južnej Ameriky, kde ich nájdeme predovšetkým v tropických dažďových pralesoch a horských pralesoch.
Stredobodom pozornosti milovníkov izbových rastlín sa stali orchidey vďaka svojim nádherným kvetom a záujem o ich pestovanie neutícha. Očaria v prvom rade exotickými tvarmi a farbami v odtieňoch červenej, fialovej, ružovej, žltej, zelenkavej až po bielu. Tie sa často vzájomne miešajú a vytvárajú rôzne odtiene a farebné prechody. Niektoré kvety intenzívne voňajú po škorici, vanilke, no sú aj druhy bez vône.
Vďaka úspešným šľachtiteľom a pestovateľom už dávno neplatí, že na ich pestovanie je potrebný skleník. Novovyšľachtené druhy je môžné pestovať ako izbové rastliny napríklad na okennom parapete.
Orchidey uprednostňujú veľmi svetlé miesta na východnom alebo západnom okne. Južné okno im prekáža pre ostré slnko a teplo. Rastlinám prospieva aj čerstvý vyvetraný vzduch, no neznesú prievan. Darí sa im, keď je relatívna vlhkosť vzduchu 60 - 70 %. Ideálna teplota predstavuje dvadsať stupňov Celzia. V miestnosti s ústredným vykurovaním treba zabezpečiť odparovacie misky s vodou a dobré vetranie, ale pozor na prievan!
Ak chcete experimentovať s pestovaním viacerých náročných rastlín, mali by ste si zriadiť orchidárium, špeciálny skleník. V ňom je môžné teplotu, svetlo a vzdušnú vlhkosť regulovať podľa rastových požiadaviek.
